Frontal lobe: Possess the ability to access information and memories we accumulate that remind us how to communicate and interact appropriately.

Motor cortex: The region of the cerebral cortex concerned with transmitting impulses to the voluntary muscles.

Sensory cortex: It process and make sense out of information gathered by our five senses.

Parietal lobe: It interpret sensory information, such as letting you know the location of parts of your body and aiding in physical navigation.

Temporal lobe: It is involved in vision, memory, sensory input, language, emotion, and comprehension.

Occipital Lobe: The processing of vision and visual information.

Medulla oblongata: It controls autonomic functions throughout the body like heartbeat, breathing and digestion.

  • All brain cells are not alike. There are as many as 10,000 specific types of neurons in the brain.
  • Our brains are getting smaller. Over the past 10-20,000 years, the size of the average human brain has shrunk by the size of a tennis ball.
  • Ninety minutes of sweating can temporally shrink the brain as much as one year of aging.
  • Only 5 minutes without oxygen can cause brain damage.
  • No one knows for sure, but the latest estimate is that our brain contains roughly 86 billion brain cells.
